It started with a man named Nino Vitale, an Italian immigrant.
Nino arrived in the US, in the 1960s as a young man in his 20s
with no money to his name, unable to speak English. He left his
family’s wine-making business to seek his American Dream.
Nino found work making aluminum skirting for manufactured homes,
in Michigan. Working closely every day with homeowners, he came
to realize that they wanted to enjoy the peace and beauty of the
outdoors, and relax surrounded by it, in the comfort of their
own home. But they needed protection from the elements and insects.
A born problem-solver, Nino developed an enclosure for his customers,
using their existing aluminum awnings over their porches as roofs.
The idea was good, but it was far from perfect.
Aluminum awnings offered no thermal
protection. The aluminum allowed the sun’s heat to pass
through in the summer and produced condensation in cold temperatures.
The enclosure offered
limited comfort and only seasonal use.
Nino solved the challenge by developing the first thermal sunroom
roof. A thick layer of EPS, a construction-grade insulating
material with superior thermal qualities and strength, was sandwiched
between extra-thick construction-grade aluminum.
The success of the thermal sunroom roof soon led to the innovation
of thermal sunroom walls and windows, along with many other exclusive
features. By 1971, Nino was the founder and CEO of TEMO, Incorporated,
with a thermal sunroom that was the most advanced the industry
had ever seen.
Today, as the industry leader, TEMO continues to bring advancements
to sunroom design and function, through its engineering and design
team. TEMO was the first to introduce a nearly indestructible
wall surface material and prime window for sunrooms, built to
the superior quality of a residential window.
TEMO sunrooms are built exceptionally
strong, and they’re
independently tested. Not only are they proven to withstand up
to Category 4 hurricane wind speeds in test facilities, TEMO sunrooms
have been documented to withstand real-life exposure to Florida
hurricanes and even tornados.

TEMO first sold its sunrooms locally, from a small showroom, located
in the manufacturing building, here in Clinton Township, Michigan.
Sales of TEMO sunrooms expanded nationally, sold through exclusive
dealers throughout the US. Today, more than 150 dealers are authorized
to sell TEMO sunrooms in the United States and Canada, making
a TEMO sunroom, the leading thermal sunroom in the nation.
As TEMO, the national manufacturer,
grew, so too did TEMO’s
local retail business. TEMO needed a bigger showroom, separate
from the manufacturing building, which was also expanding to meet
national sales and production.
In 1994, Tony V’s Sunrooms and Spas opened, a beautiful
new 16,800-square-foot showroom, located next to TEMO’s
corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility. It was named
after Tony Vitale, Nino’s beloved nephew. Tony Vitale made
his career as a passionate and top-selling salesman of TEMO sunrooms,
until his premature death, as a young man.

Named to honor the memory of Nino’s nephew, Tony V’s
Sunrooms and Spas is very much a family-centered business. This
starts with a deep dedication to products that enhance how families
live and enjoy everyday life, and extends to our dedication in
treating our customers like family. Our mission is to provide
our customers the kind of customer service they deserve – through
the sale and far beyond.

TEMO continues to bring innovation to the home improvement industry.
As the thermal panel expert, TEMO developed its Designer Basement
product line, bringing the same kind of innovation to finished
basements that it did with sunrooms.
Designer Basements is unlike any other
basement finishing product known. For the first time, materials
designed specifically for
the basement environment to resist mold and moisture are combined
with the elegance and convenience of pre-finished designer décor – all
with the thermal panels that bring exceptional room comfort that
TEMO is known for.
As the direct link to the manufacturer of its superior products,
no one knows sunrooms or basements better than Tony V’s.
When you work every day directly with the pioneer of thermal
sunroom and basement products, you can’t help but be an
expert in design and installation.
That’s the comfort and promise of Tony V’s.
